Phelps had lost eight straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 7-18 to make it nine. They came up short against the Elcho Hornets, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Knights have suffered against the Hornets since September 7, 2021.

Alivia Jones paced Phelps' offense, picking up three kills. Jones got some help from Keira Riihimaki and her four assists. Jodie Grasse controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

As for Elcho, the victory got them back to even at 10-10. That three set margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Elcho to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isabelle Multhauf, who had seven kills, four digs, and two aces. What's more, Multhauf racked up 11 assists, the most she's had over her last six matchups. Another player making a difference was Kayla Siemers, who had 16 digs and two aces.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Phelps will venture away from home to square off against White Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elcho, after both having extra time off, they and Goodman-Pembine will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
