Recap: Hodgeman County Longhorns vs. Bucklin Red Aces
The Hodgeman County Longhorns lost against the Bucklin Red Aces back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Hodgeman County received a tough blow as they fell 65-46 to Bucklin. Hodgeman County has not had much luck with Bucklin recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Hodgeman County still got an impressive performance from Owen Reece, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 52.2% of Hodgeman County's points, marking the 13th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Hazen Rydquist was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Hodgeman County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Bucklin, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Hodgeman County and South Gray will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. South Gray knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 matches -- so hopefully Hodgeman County likes a good challenge. As for Bucklin, they will be playing at home against Ingalls at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ingalls focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Friday.
