Basketball Recap: Uplift Mighty Prep Lions vs. Newman International Academy Warriors
Uplift Mighty Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 90-17 loss at the hands of the Newman International Academy Warriors. Sadly, that's the two time they've come up short against the Lions, as the also lost their prior matchup 82-28 back in November.
Newman International Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from TJ Styles, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Kelvin Tanimowo, who went 7 of 11 en route to 17 points and five rebounds.
Uplift Mighty Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Newman International Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-6.
