Softball Recap: Berean Christian's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Berean Christian put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Atlantic Christian Sharks by a score of 14-11.

Julianne Severson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in earned runs (zero). She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lillian Severson, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Severson is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least two every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Norton, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Berean Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .512 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Berean Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Atlantic Christian, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berean Christian will take on Leonard at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Leonard is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 14.6 runs per game this season. As for Atlantic Christian, they will challenge Somerset Academy - Canyons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Atlantic Christian has given up an average of 14.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
