Softball Game Preview: Anacortes Seahawks vs. Nooksack Valley Pioneers

Anacortes came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Lynden, falling 15-1. The loss continues a trend for the Seahawks in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost five in a row.

Burlington-Edison hit Nooksack Valley with a four-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pioneers lost 14-8 to the Tigers. The Pioneers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Alayna Dykstra was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Shelby Mason, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Nooksack Valley's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Anacortes, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.
