Football Game Preview: Sanford Mustangs vs. Dolores Bears

Sanford has gone a perfect 3-0 against Dolores recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mustangs will welcome the Bears at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Sanford's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last four contests.

Sanford is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Mancos, who was ranked 11th at the time (Sanford was ranked fifth). The Mustangs took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-14 win over the Bluejays. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 51 points the game before, Dolores was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They took a 20-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dove Creek. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Sanford pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points over those games. As for Dolores, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Everything came up roses for Sanford against Dolores when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 51-17 victory. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
