Basketball Recap: Antelope Valley Takes a Loss

Antelope Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-54 heartbreaker at the hands of The Palmdale Aerospace Academy Griffins. The Antelopes lost against the Griffins in their previous head to head back in December of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 69-22 score last time.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead The Palmdale Aerospace Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jacob Sacopla, who posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jerrit Mattox, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Antelope Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Antelope Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-39 loss against Paraclete on the 21st. As for The Palmdale Aerospace Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 83-67 victory against Excelsior Charter on the 21st.
