Recap: Rockledge Raiders vs. Master's Academy Eagles
On Thursday, Rockledge opened the new year with a less-than-successful 42-35 defeat to Master's Academy. While losing is never fun, Rockledge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 473rd, while Master's Academy is ranked 200th).
Rockledge lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaida Williams-Goins, who scored 16 points along with three steals. The match was Williams-Goins' tenth in a row with at least ten points.
Rockledge's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Master's Academy, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Rockledge will look to defend their home court on Monday against Merritt Island Christian at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Merritt Island Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Friday. As for Master's Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake Nona at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
