Football Recap: Irvine Takes a Loss

Irvine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Woodbridge Warriors, falling 21-0. While losing is never fun, the Vaqueros can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 423rd, while the Warriors are ranked 43rd).

Irvine's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Woodbridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Irvine is set to challenge their familiar foe Rosary Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Woodbridge will take on rival University at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Warriors 11.1, the Trojans 12.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
