Basketball Recap: Madison Comes Up Short

Madison lost against Jefferson Area back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Madison Blue Streaks had to suffer through a 82-53 loss at the hands of the Jefferson Area Falcons. The Blue Streaks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Madison lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mac Steele, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Tomco, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 13 points.

Madison's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-4. As for Jefferson Area, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madison will welcome Geneva at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jefferson Area, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Conneaut at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. Jefferson Area is facing Conneaut at the right time seeing as Conneaut is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
