Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask DeKalb). They secured a 71-67 W over the Angola Hornets on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Barons also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Niles Knox, who went 6 for 7 en route to 18 points and five boards. Knox is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Landon Leach, who posted 14 points.

DeKalb's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7. As for Angola, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DeKalb has already played their next matchup (against Columbia City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Angola will face off against Churubusco at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Angola is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.7 points per game this season.
