Football Recap: Canyon del Oro Comes Up Short

Canyon del Oro was the 26-22 winner over Ironwood Ridge when they last played one another back in October of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The contest between the Dorados and the Nighthawks didn't end well, with the Dorados falling 24-6. The Dorados have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Peyton Strang threw for 50 yards and one touchdown. Cash Dickey was his top target, picking up 35 receiving yards and one TD. On the ground, Brenden Lawrence rushed for 47 yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ironwood Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maximus Harder, who threw for 192 yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one score on the ground. A healthy portion of Harder's aerial production (81 yards to be exact) went to Zarin Robbins.

Canyon del Oro now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Ironwood Ridge, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Canyon del Oro has already played their next matchup, a 19-12 victory against Vista Grande on the 3rd. As for Ironwood Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 49-0 loss against Marana on the 3rd.
