Ponaganset and Providence Country Day are an even 3-3 against one another since October of 2016, but likely not for long. The Chieftains will challenge the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ponaganset will be strutting in after a win while Providence Country Day will be coming in after a defeat.

Ponaganset barely beat Rogers the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Chieftains never let the Vikings get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Thursday. Ponaganset have beaten Rogers the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Rogers has come to flipping the script.

Ponaganset's offense was hitting Rogers from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal.

Meanwhile, Providence Country Day was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against Burrillville, falling 6-1. Surprisingly, this marked Providence Country Day's fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Providence Country Day's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Ponaganset, their win bumped their record up to 9-7-3.

Ponaganset beat Providence Country Day by a goal in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chieftains since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
