Softball Recap: Keene's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Keene hadn't done well against Exeter recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Blackbirds narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Blue Hawks 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blackbirds have posted against the Blue Hawks since May 18, 2016.

The victory was the third in a row for Keene, bringing their record up to 5-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Exeter, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8-1 record this season.

Keene will take on Nashua North at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Blackbirds are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a 16-game losing streak. As for Exeter, they will venture away from home to face off against Pinkerton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Astros' pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so the Blue Hawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
