Basketball Recap: Harlandale Comes Up Short

Harlandale suffered their biggest defeat since December 28, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 72-33 loss at the hands of the Jay Mustangs. The contest marked the Indians' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Jay's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zachariah Linson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. That's the most rebounds Linson has posted since back in November of 2023. Jarrius Jackson Jr was another key player, going 9 for 15 on his way to 19 points in addition to seven assists and five boards.

Harlandale's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-6. As for Jay, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harlandale will venture away from home to square off against Boerne at 3:00 p.m. on December 28th. As for Jay, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Winn at 1:30 p.m. on December 31st.
