Soccer Game Preview: Ryan vs. Northwest

The Ryan Raiders will challenge the Northwest Texans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Northwest took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Ryan, who comes in off a win.

Ryan's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Braswell as they made off with a 3-0 win. Ryan might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Northwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Keller, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Northwest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 354th, while Keller are ranked 34th).

Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3-1. As for Ryan, they now have a winning record of 3-2-2.

Ryan beat Northwest by a goal in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, winning 2-1. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Texans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
