Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jazmin Evenden and Tayla Perez Lead Southeast Career Tech to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sierra Vista, Southeast Career Tech was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Valley Vikings with a sharp 3-0 win. The Roadrunners haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-13, 25-17.

Leading Southeast Career Tech to victory were Tayla Perez and Jazmin Evenden. Perez had five aces and one assist, while Evenden had seven digs and two assists. Those five aces gave Perez a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Southeast Career Tech was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive matches.

Southeast Career Tech's record now sits at 18-10. As for Valley, they dropped their record down to 4-21 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Southeast Career Tech will challenge Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Valley, after both having extra time off, they and Green Valley will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
