Baseball Recap: Boron Comes Up Short

Boron easily dispatched Mammoth on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Bobcats fell just short of the Rosamond Roadrunners by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Roadrunners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-4 back in April.

Geordyn Rundblade made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Boron's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 9-2 (and 3-7 when he doesn't). Breysan Day was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Boron's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Rosamond, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-6.

Boron wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 14-2 victory against Frazier Mountain on the 8th. As for Rosamond, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-5 win against Kern Valley on the 7th.
