Softball Recap: Lab Museum United's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Lab Museum United had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They walked away with an 11-8 win over the Brandeis Bulldogs. 11 seems to be a good number for Lab Museum United as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Dahlia Legendre spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jenna Schuster was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Nyla Peart was another key player, going 2-for-3 with five stolen bases and one run.

Lab Museum United pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Brandeis, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-3 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lab Museum United will challenge Bergtraum at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Brandeis, they will square off against Rustin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
