Football Game Preview: Dayton Broncos vs. Splendora Wildcats + How To Watch

The Dayton Broncos will venture away from home to face off against the Splendora Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dayton has given up an average of 36.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Dayton and Huntsville were almost perfectly matched up, but Dayton suffered a 42-41 loss. The Broncos were up 21-7 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Denim Foster, who picked up 96 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 79 yards and one score. Jerry Prieto Jr was another key player, having thrown for 300 yards and three touchdowns.

Even if they lost, Dayton's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Merkle Judge with two.

Meanwhile, Splendora was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by Montgomery 56-19. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 753rd, while the Bears are ranked 166th).

Dayton will have to contain Brayden Hinton as he made an impact in Splendora's last game. He threw for 236 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 46 yards. Kairee Williams was another key player, picking up 122 receiving yards and one score.

Dayton's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Splendora, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Everything came up roses for Dayton against Splendora when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 33-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Broncos since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
