Basketball Game Preview: Jackson County Blue Devils vs. York Institute Dragons

The Jackson County Blue Devils will challenge the York Institute Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jackson County will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Jackson County didn't have too much trouble with Gordonsville as they won 69-54.

Meanwhile, York Institute played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 80-52 defeat at the hands of Gatlinburg-Pittman. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 367th, while the Highlanders are ranked 42nd).

Jackson County pushed their record up to 19-2 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for York Institute, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-15.

Everything came up roses for Jackson County against York Institute in their previous matchup back in January, as the squad secured a 70-19 win. Will Jackson County repeat their success, or does York Institute have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
