Baseball Recap: South Haven Christian Takes a Loss

South Haven Christian had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 2-4 to make it five. They fell just short of the Zion Christian Academy Eagles by a score of 10-9. The result was an unpleasant reminder to South Haven Christian of the 8-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Kade Atkinson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for South Haven Christian: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tate Ballard, who earned two RBI, one run, and three stolen bases.

As for Zion Christian Academy, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-10 record. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

On Zion Christian Academy's side, J.T. Fox was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Jack Handley was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

While South Haven Christian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
