Basketball Recap: Loyalton Grizzlies vs. Hayfork Timberjacks
After flying high against Herlong last Tuesday, Loyalton came back down to earth. The Loyalton Grizzlies came up short against the Hayfork Timberjacks on Friday, falling 68-43. The Grizzlies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Timberjacks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Hayfork got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Levi Cavalli out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. The match was Cavalli's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatem Wiley, who posted 16 points along with seven boards and four steals.
Loyalton's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Hayfork, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
Loyalton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-34 defeat against Paradise on the 20th. As for Hayfork, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 82-36 win against Los Molinos on the 21st.
