Soccer Game Preview: Lafayette vs. Fort White

The Lafayette Hornets will head out to take on the Fort White Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lafayette has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 19 goals over their last three contests.

If Fort White heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Lafayette took over last week. Lafayette was the clear victor by a 5-1 margin over Dixie County on Monday. Considering the Hornets have won seven matches by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Dixie County with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Carra Clark (2), Adrian Mathis, Ella McAdams, and Alyssa Jones.

Meanwhile, Fort White fell victim to Williston and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They came up short against the Red Devils, falling 7-0. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Red Devils recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Lafayette is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those six contests. As for Fort White, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Everything went Lafayette's way against Fort White in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as Lafayette made off with a 6-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lafayette since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
