Archer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Newton Rams, falling 50-25. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 47-14 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.

Jordan Do rushed for 90 yards. Colby Alexander was his top target, picking up 44 receiving yards.

It was another big night for Zion Johnson, who rushed for 209 yards on only 12 carries for Newton. That's the most rushing yards Johnson has posted since back in August of 2023.
