Volleyball Game Preview: Altamont Longhorns vs. Tabiona Tigers

Altamont is 0-10 against Tabiona since September of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Longhorns will take on the Tigers at 9:00 a.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Altamont is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Bryce Valley as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Longhorns not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 4th (when they won 3-0).

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Altamont was: they took every set by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-13, 25-11.

Chezney Bywater was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had nine digs and eight aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August.

Bywater wasn't the only good servers: Altamont was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 24 aces. The Longhorns are 9-4 when they serve at least ten aces.

Meanwhile, Tabiona entered their tilt with Piute on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Thunderbirds by a score of 3-1.

Altamont's record now sits at 9-18. As for Tabiona, their record is now 16-12.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Altamont has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 10.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Tabiona struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Altamont might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Tabiona in their previous matchup on October 7th. Can the Longhorns avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
