Basketball Recap: South Panola Tigers vs. Center Hill Mustangs
Make it 14 blowout wins for the South Panola Tigers this season. They blew past Center Hill 73-35 at home on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but South Panola sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Despite the loss, Center Hill still got an impressive performance from Jairya Rankins, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Center Hill struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
South Panola has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Center Hill, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-5.
South Panola will be playing in front of their home fans against the Conquistadors at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Olive Branch will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Tigers are ranked 21st). As for Center Hill, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Grenada focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
