Softball Game Preview: Chico Dragons vs. Lindsay Knights

Chico is 0-10 against Lindsay since April of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Chico Dragons will take on the Lindsay Knights at 5:00 p.m. Chico will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Chico is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 22-5 margin over Bryson on Monday. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by ten runs or more this season.

Addyson Sides was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Chico got a massive performance out of Lexi Davis, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Davis has posted since back in April of 2024. Camryn Sides was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and three runs.

Chico was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Lindsay came up short against Lake Dallas last Friday, falling 15-3.

Chico is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. Lindsay's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Chico suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Lindsay in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Chico avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
