Basketball Recap: Luke Passetti and Ethan Moses Secure Win for Temple Christian Academy

Temple Christian Academy proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 39) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the New Covenant School Cavaliers 52-49. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Leading Temple Christian Academy to victory were Ethan Moses and Luke Passetti. Moses posted 21 points in addition to seven boards and four steals, while Passetti went 9 of 19 on his way to 22 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. Moses' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Carter Hall, who put up six points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Temple Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.

New Covenant School lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Luke Fulmer, who went 8 for 16 en route to 21 points along with five boards and four steals. With that strong performance, Fulmer is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Cothran, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks.

Temple Christian Academy pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for New Covenant School, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Temple Christian Academy will take on Oakwood Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Temple Christian Academy is facing Oakwood Christian at the right time seeing as Oakwood Christian is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for New Covenant School, they will square off against Hampton Park Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hampton Park Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season.
