Basketball Game Preview: Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs vs. Normal Community Ironmen

The Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Normal Community Ironmen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Mahomet-Seymour took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They blew past Pontiac 76-42. That 34 point margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Meanwhile, Normal Community came tearing into Saturday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 66-62 victory over the Redbirds.

Mahomet-Seymour pushed their record up to 9-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.5 points per game. As for Normal Community, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Mahomet-Seymour came up short against Normal Community in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 56-43. Can Mahomet-Seymour avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
