Softball Recap: Pender Has No Trouble Against East Bladen

After losing to East Bladen the last time they met, Pender decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Pender put the hurt on East Bladen with a sharp 12-1 win on Tuesday. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by ten runs or more this season.

Jayda Tozour was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Charleigh Rivenbark was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Pender hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Pender's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for East Bladen, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Pender will have a chance to go back-to-back against East Bladen: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
