Softball Game Preview: West Limestone Wildcats vs. Westminster Christian Academy Wildcats

West Limestone is 8-2 against Westminster Christian Academy since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. West Limestone is coming into the game hot, having won their last 20 games.

West Limestone had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Austin on Monday. West Limestone put the hurt on Austin with a sharp 12-0 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Katie Lyn Kyle made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Lilly Bethune was incredible, going 1-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Lilee Legg, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

West Limestone kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Austin only managed two hits.

Meanwhile, Westminster Christian Academy had just enough and edged out Elkmont 4-2 on Thursday.

Westminster Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. West Limestone pushed their record up to 26-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Everything went West Limestone's way against Westminster Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as West Limestone made off with a 15-1 victory.
