Baseball Game Preview: South Warren Spartans vs. Hazard Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs

The South Warren Spartans will take on the Hazard Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (South Warren 3.5, Hazard 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Hazard will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: South Warren extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Spartans came out on top against Central Hardin by a score of 8-3.

Jaxen Decker was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Mosley, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Hazard suffered their closest defeat since May 31, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Floyd Central by a score of 6-4.

Talon Goins was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Clint Davidson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Hazard's loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 19-3. As for South Warren, their win bumped their record up to 20-6.
