The Highlands Golden Rams will challenge the Valley Vikings at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Highlands is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Last Friday, Highlands was able to grind out a solid victory over Freeport, taking the game 5-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Rams.
Madison Gorney made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She also tossed two walks, marking her first of the season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 15-0 to Knoch. The match marked the first time this season in which the Vikings were not able to get on the board.
Highlands' win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
