Baseball Game Preview: Harbor Creek Huskies vs. St. John Fighting Herald

The Harbor Creek Huskies will challenge the St. John Fighting Herald at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Friday, Harbor Creek didn't have quite enough to beat Tallmadge and fell 12-11.

Caden Folmar stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Lucas Hanson, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

St. John kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against Metrolina Christian Academy, falling 16-1.

St. John saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyle Hejduk, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Everything went Harbor Creek's way against St. John in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Harbor Creek made off with a 15-0 victory. Does Harbor Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will St. John turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
