Softball Recap: Pennridge Beats Norristown for Their Fourth Straight Win

Pennridge came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Norristown Eagles with a sharp 14-4 victory.

Averi Dockery made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Lilly Davies was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jadyn Gulbinski, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Pennridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Pennridge pushed their record up to 8-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Norristown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pennridge will welcome North Penn at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Norristown, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pottsgrove at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.46 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
