Baseball Game Preview: Pella Dutch vs. Fairfield Trojans

Pella is a perfect 4-0 against Fairfield since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Dutch will challenge the Trojans. Pella is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.

Pella's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Keokuk as they made off with an 8-0 win. Considering the Dutch have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Fairfield posted their closest victory since June 23rd on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over Mt. Pleasant. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Pella pushed their record up to 25-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Fairfield, their win bumped their record up to 20-8.

Pella beat Fairfield 6-3 in their previous matchup back in July of 2024. Will the Dutch repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
