Softball Recap: Bonners Ferry Has No Trouble Against Lincoln County

Bonners Ferry got themselves on the board against Lincoln County on Saturday, but Lincoln County never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 16-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 28-17 on Saturday.

Jennifer Petersen made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Petersen was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Bonners Ferry got a massive performance out of Jaydin Falck, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Hannah Frago was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Bonners Ferry has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 22.0 runs this season. As for Lincoln County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bonners Ferry will welcome Troy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lincoln County, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Thompson Falls at 3:00 p.m. on April 15.
