While Carl Junction's victory against St. Mary's-Colgan wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Carl Junction was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (103-91), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 11-25, 25-22, 25-21, 15-25, 15-10.
Carl Junction found their leader in sophomore Grace Carrier, who had 19 digs and three assists. Carrier is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 16 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Kynlee Thomas also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Despite the loss, St. Mary's-Colgan had strong showings from Raigen Crager, who had eight digs, and Callie Lundy, who had 15 digs and two aces.
Carl Junction has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for St. Mary's-Colgan, they dropped their record down to 13-13 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Carl Junction wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Webb City on the 4th. As for St. Mary's-Colgan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Maranatha Christian Academy on the 6th.
