Baseball Recap: Fruitdale Takes a Loss

Fruitdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 9-5 to the Choctaw County Tigers. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Fruitdale saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josh Chestnut, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Another was Sid Hobbs, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Fruitdale's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Choctaw County, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Fruitdale will square off against Southern Choctaw at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fruitdale is facing Southern Choctaw at the right time seeing as Southern Choctaw is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Choctaw County, they will face off against Greensboro at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
