Basketball Recap: Lincoln Mathis Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Parma

The Ambrose School won against New Plymouth last Wednesday with 68 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Ambrose School Archers secured a 68-62 W over the Parma Panthers. The win almost wasn't to be: the Archers were down 58-39 in the third quarter.

The Ambrose School got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lincoln Mathis out in front who posted 19 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Mathis has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chuck Kingsley, who put up 12 points.

The Ambrose School is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Parma, they moved to 8-6 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

The Ambrose School will square off against Vision at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Parma, they will challenge Melba at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parma is facing Melba at the right time seeing as Melba is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
