La Junta is a perfect 7-0 against Ellicott since September of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Thunderhawks at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

La Junta lost 3-0 to The Vanguard School on Thursday.

While La Junta had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Ellicott was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Manitou Springs.

The final score came out to 25-9, 25-7, 16-25, 25-14.

La Junta's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Ellicott, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.

Everything went La Junta's way against Ellicott when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as La Junta made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
