Basketball Recap: Palo Verde Takes a Loss

Palo Verde lost against Desert Oasis back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Palo Verde Panthers took a 46-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Desert Oasis Diamondbacks.

Desert Oasis found their leader in sophomore Kayleigh Upham, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Upham now owns an excellent 45.3% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Atkins-Dowd, who posted seven points and three steals.

Palo Verde has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Desert Oasis, their victory bumped their record up to 14-11.

Palo Verde does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Desert Oasis, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Durango at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
