Baseball Recap: Holdrege Comes Up Short

Holdrege came into this matchup off a tough nine-run loss on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Lincoln Northwest Falcons by a score of 11-9 on Monday. The Dusters have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kegan Steinke and Hudson Otto stepped up to the plate in a big way. Steinke went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Otto earned two RBI, one run, and four stolen bases. Otto is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Robert Remmenga also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Holdrege's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Lincoln Northwest, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-13.

Holdrege has already played their next matchup, a 6-0 loss against Hastings on the 29th. As for Lincoln Northwest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 5-3 defeat against Gretna East on the 29th.
