Soccer Game Preview: Fairfield vs. Johnson

The Fairfield Falcons will head out to face off against the Johnson Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fairfield's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Tuesday, neither Fairfield nor Burbank could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, Johnson entered their tilt with Foothill on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Their defense stepped up to hand the Mustangs a 2-0 shutout. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Warriors were the better team in the second half.

Hugo Haro was the driving force of Johnson's attack as he scored both of Johnson's goals, bringing his season total up to four goals.

Johnson pushed their record up to 10-2-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those three matches. Fairfield's draw gives them a new season record of 1-14-3.

Fairfield suffered a grim 5-2 defeat to Johnson when the teams last played back in January. Can Fairfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
