            Softball Recap: Apollo Eagles vs. Owensboro Red Devils        
        
		
        
        
            Apollo was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Monday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They were a single  run away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Owensboro Red Devils. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in April of 2024.
  Liza Page was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double. That  double was  her first of the season.  Arianna Ramirez was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with two  RBI and one  double.
Apollo's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Owensboro, their victory  ended  a  four-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 8-9.
 Coming up, Apollo will venture away from home to  take on Evansville Mater Dei  at 5:45  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Owensboro, they will welcome Hancock County  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.69  runs per game on average), something the Red Devils will no doubt try to take advantage of.
