Basketball Recap: Cheraw's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cheraw waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Chesterfield Golden Rams by a score of 56-48. This was payback for the Braves, who suffered a 52-41 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Cheraw got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaleah Faulkner out in front who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. The game was Faulkner's third in a row with at least ten points. Sa'Nya Murray was another key player, putting up 11 points along with eight steals and seven boards.

Cheraw smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Chesterfield saw an underclassman step up: freshman Reagan Rivers almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Le'Asia Brown, who posted six points in addition to eight boards and three blocks.

Cheraw has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.4 points per game. As for Chesterfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Cheraw has already played their next game (against Andrew Jackson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Chesterfield will take on North Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
