Preview: Churchill County Greenwave vs. Dayton Dust Devils
Churchill County is 9-1 against Dayton since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Churchill County Greenwave will head out on the road to square off against the Dayton Dust Devils at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Churchill County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Wednesday.
Churchill County suffered their biggest defeat since December 28, 2023 on Wednesday. They were dealt a 68-38 defeat at the hands of Fernley. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Churchill County in their matchups with Fernley: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the defeat, Churchill County had strong showings from Trevor Hyde, who scored six points, and Brady Alves, who scored seven points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Dayton had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 48-43 win over Lowry on Wednesday. The win was just what Dayton needed coming off of a 54-21 defeat in their prior game.
Churchill County now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Dayton, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11.
Churchill County strolled past Dayton in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 51-35. Will Churchill County repeat their success, or does Dayton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
