Baseball Recap: Minerva Lions vs. Marlington Dukes
Minerva's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Marlington Dukes. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 4-1 victory the Dukes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Braydon Wood made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. He also tossed two walks, which is notable because Minerva is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 3-5 otherwise. Wood was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
