Football Recap: East Henderson Comes Up Short

East Henderson had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 0-4 to make it seven. They were beaten by the Franklin Panthers 59-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 48-8 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

As for Franklin, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Zavion Ensley was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 48 yards and a pair of scores.

East Henderson and Franklin could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Eagles will face off against Smoky Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on the 19th with a big rank disadvantage (395 vs. 190). Meanwhile, Franklin (ranked 131st) will meet Brevard (ranked 50th) at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
